Digital Construction Week 18 and 19 October 2017

Digital Construction Week 2017

Waste Plan Solutions (WPS) exhibited at the Digital Construction Week event on 18 and 19 October 2017.

Digital Construction Week is the only event series in the UK dedicated to digital construction, engineering, design, manufacturing, and operation. Its purpose is to present the potential of new industry tools and processes available that have the power to change the future and share how best to adopt and implement them.  As their focus was on helping reduce costs and carbon emissions, improve profitability and efficiency, and create a smarter more diverse industry WPS had to be there!

WPS are currently supporting the Tottenham new stadium construction project so we were very interested of course in the full Virtual Reality programme of the new stadium presented at one large exhibition stand.

Our stand showcased our newly launched online compliance tool for the construction industry ‘SitePlan’.  SitePlan (www.siteplan.online) is an online software tool that not only produces comprehensive, compliant Site Waste Management Plans (SWMPs), it now also handles Site Impact requirements to satisfy other compliance necessities, e.g. BREEAM MAN03 Site Impacts, and it even goes as far as to calculate the Carbon Footprint for your site. As there was a great deal going on in the whole exhibition about BIM, we knew that we would have some interest in DRIM but we were delighted in the level of interest.  One gentleman commented that he had been going to the exhibition for 6 years and it was the first time he had seen anyone talking about deconstruction.  Click here to learn more about DRIM.

WPS Director, Alan Chapman, represented WPS in the Tech Studio.  His talk subject matter focused on both Siteplan and DRIM and was well received.  Several members of the audience came back to discuss both subjects further after his lecture.

All in all it was an interesting and enjoyable event, including a little relaxation of racing remote control cars around a track with 9 other contestants – David secured first place and Fehmi came third.  Congratulations both!
